Each
year, millions of dollars are spent by the mutual fund industry to
communicate with shareholders, educate investors and the
public, meet legal or regulatory requirements and market
products and services.
The
STAR Awards program was created to recognize the extraordinary
efforts of mutual fund companies in communicating with their various
constituencies and in helping investors understand and benefit from
mutual funds.
The program stands as the only
competition of its kind, open to all fund companies, judged by
professionals in the industry and recognized by the media as an
important barometer of excellence.
Now in its 12th year, the program offers key benefits to the
companies who win a coveted STAR and provides a platform for the
fund industry to acknowledge its ongoing commitment to helping
people understand and benefit from mutual funds.

“At Ariel, we have found the Mutual Fund
Education Alliance STAR Awards to be incredibly
motivating to our creative team. The awards are
determined by our peers, which challenges all of us
in the industry to continually raise the bar in our
communications programs. While we are all competing
for the coveted STARS, there is also a spirit of
camaraderie among firms to find better ways to build
trust and stronger relationships with shareholders.”

prestigious in the industry, and Fidelity
Investments has been honored to have won several for
excellence in communications and education over the
years. The Mutual Fund Education Alliance’s rigorous
evaluation of each entry—focusing not only on
quality but on proven metrics—makes the STAR a
coveted distinction.” |

“The MFEA
provides a number of benefits to its members. Of course, the more
your company participates the more it will gain from its membership.
One of the greatest benefits of membership is being able to take
part in the annual STAR Awards. Participating in the STAR Awards has
allowed us to gain recognition from our peers for all of the hard
work we put into our websites on a daily basis. The feedback we’ve
received has been both pointed and pertinent and has helped us speed
up the progress we’ve made in improving our sites. Earning STAR
awards has also provided us with another “arrow in our quiver” from
a marketing standpoint.” |
